At its height around 700 AD, Tikal was home to an estimated 100,000 people. Walk beneath the jungle canopy past temples, ball courts, and ceremonial plazas, then climb Temple IV for views above the treetops. Howler monkeys, toucans, and coatimundis are regularly spotted along the trails.
